Don't have the time or energy to go into great detail at the moment, but Clara needs lots of prayer right now. She has had a very tough afternoon. They've been having a very hard time keeping her blood oxygen levels up, and the doctors have told us that ECMO (the heart/lung bypass machine) may be necessary. They've got her on nitric oxide to open up her pulmonary blood vessels, and for the moment that appears to be working, and we probably won't have to go on ECMO tonight.
Also, pray for Chrissy and me. It's been very hard to watch Clara struggling so much and succeeding so little. We've been warned that CDH involves lots of ups and downs, but I guess we weren't mentally prepared for such a big downswing so quickly. We're going to try to get some rest. Pray for a big upswing to come quickly!
Praying for all of you!ReplyDelete

I pray for Clara right now, asking for God to give her strength for this fight ahead. I ask for Him to stablize her pressures and her oxygenation. I thank Him earnestly for giving the doctors and nurses wisdom, and for the technical capabilities of ECMO, but I pray He allows her to improve without it. I also pray for you, her parents. I remember these days. They were terrifying and lonely and so busy just waiting. I pray for you to be able to feel the love and peace of the Lord with you, as well as the hundreds of others who are with you in spirit!
Love from another CDH mom,
Robert and Chrissy, Will be praying for all of you. Please try to rest, you are going to need all your energy and stamina to make smart and right decisions. God is holding Clara in the palm of his hand and he will not let her go. Stay strong and keep the faith!ReplyDelete

Praying for the nitric to really help! Kayla was put on nitric as well and that seemed to help her....i know its hard but you have to stay positive...fight the fight with her. She needs your strength too. Put ure hand on her and send out those positive vibes and a little extra strength for a boost. I know I sound crazy but I swear that helped my husband and I when kayla was going downhill..hang in there...payers and love are in your favor tonight!ReplyDelete
