  6. So hard to wrap my head around how this has even happened. Chrissy has been a bright life since the day of her birth. I was fortunate enough to meet her when she was just a wee one home from the hospital. And she loved her life with a heart bursting full of love and a smile that could just knock your socks off. Sending so many prayers to Robert , Clara and Eloise. And especially to our Sweet Mama who was a sweet mama to so many of us when Trey and Chrissy were still in utero.
Love love all of you so very much.

    1. Thank you Rene. You found words for exactly how I've been feeling this week. I think many of us share these memories of such a sweet soul .

To sweet Eloise, my prayers and thoughts are with you, your sister Clara and the rest of your family. Your mother touched many lives and was a kind spirit. Though words may not give you comfort during this time, know you have a village of love and support around you.

Robert, Clara, and Eloise, I am so very sorry to hear this very sad news. I know first-hand that losing someone to leukemia is heart-breaking, and I'm saddened to hear that it was so quick. I am heartened that your family has a strong faith and family. Let the people of the world surround you, and tell them exactly what you need when you know what that is, and let them take over when you have no idea what your needs are. I will add your family to my prayers as you navigate this time and the days forward.

  10. Robert, we’ve never had the chance to meet in person. I was Chrissy’s roommate sophomore year at Wake. My husband and I both knew Chrissy well in those days. We have lived in colorado since we married in 2003 but have followed your sweet family from afar. Chrissy was so kind to me when we lost our twin son in 2008. It has been such a joy to see your family grow. We prayed mightily for Clara and have rejoiced to see both of your girls thrive. We watched the service today and found great peace in it. We will continue to reflect on the injustice of your loss, but please know we are quietly thinking of you and the girls for all of our days. If anyone knew how to live fully, it was Chrissy. We intend to do just that in her honor.

  11. I was able to watch the service last night while listening to the waves of the ocean crash against the shore here in Wrightsville Beach. Such a beautiful, moving service and tribute to Chrissy. My prayers are with you all during the coming days and weeks. Peace be with you all.
