Low Country

In May, we took a trek down to Wadamalaw Island to see some dear dear friends whom have known me all my life and loved Clara like their own.  Rick and Charlotte live on some beautiful property made only more beautiful by their amazingly selfless hospitality.  We were treated like princesses (all of us, not just the ones who got to bathe in the "princess tub," pictured below).  From incredibly delicious food to perfect hours spent on the beach flopping around in tidal pools (Clara even managed to get Rick to FEED HER an ice cream bar while she  lounged in the water.... wrapped around his finger, much?) to swimming in the swimming pool to taking a walk down the dock to check on the crab trap to visiting the shrimp boats and famous angel tree.... we crammed more fun and relaxation into one weekend than should have been possible.  It was restorative to the soul and Clara delighted in the love these folks poured on her.  To be honest, Sweet Mama and I did, too.  True hearts of gold.   We can't wait to get back down there and see them again.  Thanks for being so good to us!

(More pictures here than I should probably include in one post, but I was pretty snap happy with all this gorgeous scenery and I had a hard time being selective.)

It's almost six weeks later and Clara is still talking about how much fun we had on this weekend.  Thanks be to God - for good friends, good food, and His beautiful creation.
