Build-A-Bear (or Wash-A-Lamb, in our case)

Clara's birthday festivities kicked off with a special trip to the mall with her Aunt Johnna (and mama, Sweet Mama, and Ms Phyllis too!) for her first Build-A-Bear experience.  She wasn't quite sure at first about what she was supposed to be doing, but eventually settled on a lamb who came to be named "Fluffy."  We got him stuffed and an "I love you" noise inserted in his paw and thus began the process of trying to choose an outfit.

Four adults, one almost three year old, lots of laughter, and every single outfit possibility in the store later, Clara insisted that Fluffy did not want to wear clothes.  Her favorite part of the whole store was the bath, so he got "cleaned" approximately 72 times before he came home.

It was a super fun evening and Fluffy has gotten lots of love since we  brought him home.  Here's just a few cell phone photos of the night!

Build-A-Bear!! My sister and I would have loved that company as little girls growing up!! ;)
Clara chose a lamb!! Sweet!! Did you know that those Build-A-Bear stuffed animals are, literally, washable? Well. The bear that my two-year old niece, "Amethyst" has is!! See. My dog, Rose, mistakenly got hold of it, slobbering a limb. So we threw the bear into the washing machine!! Later, Mom realized that there was a heart inside it!! Whoops. But this very resilient bear still has some faint rhythm!! Whew!! ;-D
    Love you later, Raelyn
