Looking Back: September {Wentworth Wedding Weekend}

My dear friend Stacy celebrated her beautiful wedding to a wonderful man in September.  I couldn't be happier that she's found the one who completes her so well, who makes her so happy, and who loves her so fully.  She waited a long time for this day and it was simply perfect.  We were honored and thrilled to be a part of her special celebration all weekend.

Stacy is one of the kindest, funniest, most generous people I've ever known.  She'd do anything in the world for the people she loves and she is an important part of so many people's lives.  She's a brilliant, compassionate, skilled, empathetic and loving physician who works to help her patients beat cancer every day.  She loves children and animals and travel and I laugh so hard when I'm with her. We were very close during the years before I became a mother and even though our lives' circumstances have found us busy in different directions the past few years, she will always mean the world to me.  She was a remarkable source of medical support for me leading up to Clara's birth and prayed so hard for us during those difficult months.  She has celebrated beside us and loved us well.  It was such a joy and honor to get to celebrate with her during her big moment.   We are thankful for her and thankful for Todd.

Instead of a  bridal party full of Stacy's friends, she made the incredibly sweet decision to ask her friends' daughters to stand with her as flower girls.  It was one of the most precious things I have ever witnessed.  Stacy and Todd will probably not have any children of their own, but these girls are Stacy's and she loves them so much.  We are thankful for these sweet sweet memories.

Clara wore the flower girl dress that I wore when I was her age.  It's perhaps the ultimate "Mama Wore That."  Before the wedding, I took her to have some formal portraits done in it so we'd have something similar to what my mom had taken of me in 1985.

And I have more photos from the weekend than I can post here, so I'll try to choose a few highlights.   The rehearsal dinner was a super fun fiesta themed party complete with a taco truck on Stacy and Todd's farm.

Saturday morning, Stacy had some friends throw her a gorgeous (and delicious) wedding brunch.

And the main event.... here are a few of Stacy's professional photos.  Go ahead, melt.

And here are a few of my own from the ceremony and reception (back at Stacy and Todd's farm):

So happy for this beautiful friend and her beautiful new life ahead of her.  Thanks for letting us be a part of your sacred celebration!

  1. This is very useful information on your wedding weekend. Last week, I attended my cousin’s wedding which was arranged at one of grand wedding venues in the city. They did amazing arrangements and beautiful decorations with Red and white flowers. Really enjoyed a lot there.
