About The Hardy Life

"Robert and I have both always loved writing, but would never have imagined that this blog would have become the outlet it has (again and again).  I started it on a whim, shortly after we were married.  I posted very irregularly until we were pregnant with our first child.  At our 18 week ultrasound, we found out that she would be born with a birth defect called congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH).  This blog became a way for us to process this news and for us to share with friends and family about her condition and ways to pray for her.  The first weeks of her life were extremely fragile and we were amazed at the ways that God spread the news of this blog to people all over the world who rallied behind Clara and us in prayer.

In the years since I sporadically would return to update about normal family activities, the remaining health concerns for Clara, and other thoughts and musings on our life... the Hardy life.

Now we're dusting it off (or trying to) to keep you informed of Chrissy's journey fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).  Thanks for being new or old readers and for caring enough about the Hardy life to be what keeps us Hardy through it all!

This blogger interface is old (and so am I, now), so it's a little clunky and I'm trying to clean and and update some, so be patient while we get it functioning optimally.  It's at least a landing place with news for now!"

The above is what Chrissy published from the hospital shortly before her death. And up until that point, this was a perfect description of what this blog was. I'm not sure what it is now. I think it's largely still in the same spirit of getting a lot of complex information out to a lot of people who care about us and want to know how we're doing. But now it's less about medical information and more about the process of grieving. And the nature of the blog will likely change along with our family. And it will likely go for long stretches without updates. I hope to be able to post regularly, but I know everyone will understand if life's priorities keep me from doing so.
