Happy Freedom!

While the piedmont was suffering a heat wave with temperatures as high as 110 before the heat index, we were fortunately escaping to above 5,000 feet where things were nice and cool.  Well, eighty degrees.  Which felt cool.

We enjoyed celebrating Clara's second Fourth of July with family and friends, lots of pool and playground time, good walks and good food.  Clara wears her red, white and blue quite well.  Here are a few of my favorite shots from the week!

The playground....

The pool....

Happy Fourth of July!

 Enjoying the cool(er) temperatures outside...

 Stopping to smell the flowers....

(or eat them...)

She has such joy....

Look at all those teeth!

 Big giggles....

Three guesses who she was laughing at....

I love this face after Rufus took it from her....

Posing with Caroline and Sweet Mama before the 4th of July party....

And here she is with her sweet boyfriend, Hank....

He comes from a good lookin' family:

This pillowcase dress was made, yes really handmade, by her mama.  Not bad for a first attempt, right?

And I made the hairbow, too!

I'm so thankful that Clara was blessed enough to be born in this country where she will have freedoms that so much of the world only dreams of.  May she use that freedom to help make this world a happier place!
